ReStore Volunteer 101

Role Description

Volunteers attending this volunteer shift will go through our ReStore orientation and then be able to jump right in and volunteer by receiving and processing donations.

The ReStore is Habitat's own home improvement store, stocked with new and gently used donated goods whose sale proceeds support our operating cost and carry forward our mission of building homes, communities and hope.

This is one of our "Orientation Shifts" that are open to anyone to sign up & attend, but you must arrive on time and plan to stay for the full shift. We will start on time and its imperative that you receive the orientation information that will allow you to volunteer this full 3 hour shift.

Participate in our ReStore Orientation- get the lay of the land and understand what your role as a shipping and receiving volunteer is
Working alongside our team, help to manage the receipt and processing of donated goods

Special Requirements

Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 20 lbs.

All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Volunteers 14 and 15 years of age must be accompanied by their parent/guardian. Volunteers 16 and 17 must have their parent/guardian sign a Release and Waiver for minors, email volunteer@restorechicago.org for more information. Volunteers 18 and over must sign a Release and Waiver of Liability.
